June 24, 2025
The Architectural League cordially invites you to its 144th Annual Meeting & Party, “Drawing Together.”
The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, in the Dr. S. Stevan Dweck Cultural Center at the Brooklyn Public Library. The meeting will include the official election of officers and directors (more information below) accompanied by brief remarks from outgoing League President Mario Gooden and League Executive Director Jacob R. Moore.
Then, at 6:30 p.m., join The Architectural League and the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) on the plaza for “Drawing Together,” a celebration of design and the public imagination. A vibrant public realm is only possible when people from different walks of life come together to dream, design, and build. “Drawing Together” does just that, bringing us closer amidst forces that aim to drive us apart.
The party will include guided sketching sessions with designers and artists John Moody, Noah Fisher, John Hartmann, Sean Suchara, Margaret Sullivan, Bryan Young, Annie Barrett, Stella Betts & David Leven, Nina Cooke John, Frances Halsband, Jose Luis Vidalon, Paul Lewis, Lyn Rice & Astrid Lipka, and Claire Weisz. Attendees are invited to tour the BPL Central Library building with renovation architect Toshiko Mori, enjoy live music by Bahia Beats led by Carlos Almeida, and grab a bite to each from vendors including King David Tacos, Ras Omel Coconuts, and much more.
With art, music, dancing, and refreshments, the evening will remind us that building the world around us is a collective, joyful endeavor.
