The meeting took place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, in the Dr. S. Stevan Dweck Cultural Center at the Brooklyn Public Library. The meeting included the official election of officers and directors (more information below) with brief remarks from outgoing League President Mario Gooden and League Executive Director Jacob R. Moore.

Afterwards, The Architectural League and the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) moved to the plaza for “Drawing Together,” for a celebration of design and the public imagination. A vibrant public realm is only possible when people from different walks of life come together to dream, design, and build. “Drawing Together” did just that, brought us closer amidst forces that aim to drive us apart.

The party included guided sketching sessions with designers and artists Annie Barrett, Stella Betts & David Leven, Nina Cooke John, Noah Fischer, Frances Halsband, John Hartmann, Paul Lewis, John Moody, Lyn Rice & Astrid Lipka, Margaret Sullivan, Sean Suchara, Claire Weisz, and Bryan Young. Attendees were invited to tour the BPL Central Library building with renovation architect Toshiko Mori, enjoy live music by Bahia Beats led by Carlos Almeida, and grab a bite to each from vendors including King David Tacos, Ras Omel Coconuts, and much more.

With art, music, dancing, and refreshments, the evening reminded us that building the world around us is a collective, joyful endeavor.
