Highlights from our night at MADE Bush Terminal in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Beaux Arts Ball 2025: Pattern Recognition affirmed and celebrated the quiet attention required to uncover patterns, and the critical imagination required to design new templates for what’s to come.

On Friday, October 3, 2025, The Architectural League brought Pattern Recognition to life at MADE Bush Terminal in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

The night unfolded across the vast industrial space of the The Annex, where designer Felecia Davis’s immersive installation transformed the space into a dynamic field of light and motion. Guests moved among glowing lanterns and danced as Lovie spun an unforgettable set that carried the energy well into the night.

The Ball once again welcomed hundreds of architects, designers, artists, and friends for an evening that celebrated the creativity and connections that shape our field.

A note on Pattern Recognition, the Beaux Arts Ball 2025 installation.

“The patterns embedded in the woven and knitted textiles presented here are part of the fabric of this neighborhood and Bush Terminal. Some patterns are historical, while others are current. Do you recognize any or remember them? As with all aspects of life, these patterns are in a constant process of transformation, creating new ways of living.” —Felecia Davis

Lamps covered in novel knit designs depict a highly pixelated version of a photograph of Bush Terminal from 1903, created by Shayleigh Larsen under the direction of Zoe Hezrony, manager at Zeis Knitting Lab, North Carolina State University.
