The Architectural League’s annual Emerging Voices program spotlights North American architects, landscape architects, and urban designers who have significant bodies of realized work and the potential to influence their field.

modus studio won a 2018 award.

Founded in 2008, the firm now employs more than 20 people, including partners Chris Baribeau, Josh Siebert, and Jason Wright. Housed in a self-designed LEED Platinum studio and fabrication shop in Fayetteville, Arkansas, it works across a variety of scales, from furniture design to master planning.

Representative projects include:

  • University of Arkansas Art + Design District: Sculpture Studio, a transformation of a warehouse on a brownfield site into a simple but striking space for creating and exhibiting artwork
  • Eco Modern Flats, a renovation of four dated Fayetteville apartment buildings to improve aesthetics, performance, and sustainability
  • Green Forest Middle School, a thoughtful reinterpretation of traditional school design for a small agricultural community.
