Established in 1981, the Architectural League Prize for Young Architects + Designers is a juried portfolio competition for early-career practitioners in North America, organized around a yearly theme.

The 2024 competition theme, Dirty, asked entrants to reject sanitized ways of working. Composed by the 2024 Young Architects + Designers Committee, the theme statement invited designers to “look beyond their presentations of professionalism, respectability, and expertise” and “show us your dirty ways and dirty things.”

The first day of presentations by the winners of the 2024 League Prize will feature Lola Ben-Alon of The Natural Materials Lab and Strat Coffman.

The presentations will be followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A with 2024 Young Architects + Designers Committee member Rodrigo Escandón Cesarman. Escandón Cesarman is a founding principal of the Mexico City-based studio APRDELESP.
