You're invited!
Join friends and colleagues at Building 77 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard for the 2018 Architectural League Beaux Arts Ball. This year’s theme, Vector, celebrates the flow of ideas, goods, and people through global networks of communication and exchange. Boston-based Landing Studio will reveal the site-specific installation, 16 Salt Tarps, Half Red Half White, a response to this year’s theme and the Navy Yard’s history. They write: “16 Salt Tarps, Half Red Half White, are woven in Ohio and sewn in Illinois, unloaded on a gantry in Brooklyn, on their way to cover a salt pile in Staten Island or Newark.”
As part of the League’s ongoing partnership with the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the installation will remain on view for the public from September 30th–October 7th and will be additionally activated by a specially commissioned dance choreographed by Dylan Crossman and performed by his company, Crossman Dans(c)e. Performances will take place on October 5th at 7:00 p.m. and October 6th at 2:00 p.m. Learn more and reserve tickets.
A Benefactors Dinner will precede the Ball.
