Established in 1972, Kliment Halsband Architects is based in New York City and Northampton, MA. Recently completed projects include:

• University of Massachusetts Amherst’s South College, an academic facility that preserves and extends the functions of an original 1885 building, providing instructional space and offices for the College of Humanities and Fine Arts
• New York University’s Advanced Research Institutes, a collection of open lofts in a Fifth Avenue building reconceived as collaborative educational environments.

Projects in development include:

• Friends Seminary, an expanded, enhanced, and accessible K-12 school constructed behind the facades of three historic townhouses in New York’s East Village
• Kyabirwa Ambulatory Surgical Facility, a prototype for an independent, self-sustaining ambulatory surgical facility that will provide life-saving treatments in Uganda and other underserved parts of the world.

Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects

Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects believes that “architecture should express the spirit of its time and place, and at the same time, aspire to transcend the moment as enduring contributions to ever-changing situations.” The firm was founded in 1977 with a focus on large-scale commercial, institutional, and government projects.

Recently completed projects include:

• The Centrale, a slender, Deco-inspired luxury residential tower in midtown Manhattan
• Alexander Court, a Class A office development located in Washington, DC’s central business district.

Projects in development include:

• A mixed-use building at 2100 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC’s Foggy Bottom neighborhood, featuring triple-height public lobbies and an adjoining pocket park that was also designed by the firm
• Hudson Boulevard, an informally named two-tower residential and commercial project with views of the Hudson River on New York’s west side.
