Border Infrastructures

A series of initiatives exploring design as both a tool for understanding and an agent of change amid intensifying federal immigration enforcement.

If it ever did, the border no longer stops at the border. From the CBP Mobile App and the watersheds of the Rio Grande Valley to the staffing and safety of local construction sites, border infrastructures are increasingly woven into the built environment at all scales across the United States. In response, these programs and initiatives explore design as a tool for understanding and organizing amid these changes.
