The League Prize is an annual competition that has been organized by The Architectural League since 1981. Open to designers ten years or less out of school, it draws entrants from around North America.

Isaac Michan Daniel of Michan Architecture won a 2020 award.

Isaac Michan Daniel founded Mexico City-based Michan Architecture in 2010. He describes the practice “as a laboratory of architecture, exploring new possibilities within the discipline.” Its work ranges from temporary installations to commercial spaces and large-scale residential projects.

Recent projects include:

  • ODP Apartments, a residential complex in southwest Mexico City with exposed concrete and travertine facades that produce a play of light and shadow.
  • Pavilion ( ), a temporary installation made of bricks built in the historic center of Mexico City for MEXTRÓPOLI 2018, in collaboration with Colectivo Seis, Kababie Arquitectos, and Taller Paralelo.  
  • Z53 Social Housing, 42 apartment units distributed into three interconnected towers covered with red mud bricks and surrounding interior courtyards. 

Michan holds a BArch from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and an MS in architecture from Pratt Institute, New York. 

Michan Architecture received a 2019 Design Vanguard award from Architectural Record, a 2017 Architecture MasterPrize for AL Apartment, and a 2015 Architizer Award for Z53 Social Housing.
