League Prize 2022 Exhibition: Grounding

June 14, 2022—ongoing

The online exhibition features original work by the six winners of the 2022 Architectural League Prize for Young Architects + Designers. In combination with their lectures and interviews, this exhibition spotlights the winners’ interpretations of Grounding, the 2022 competition theme, which asked entrants to reflect on the substance of design’s foundations and their own searches for grounding as young designers. The installations reflect a rich variety of responses to this prompt, as well as the broader diversity of the winners’ interests and modes of practice.

Traversing the virtual and the physical, Grounding includes both entirely digital projects and documentation of physical installations in communities across North America. The projects span a wide range of media and settings, from photographs to sound compositions, private homes to public spaces and galleries.
