Join Rafael Viñoly Architects at its office for drinks, conversation, and a behind the scenes look at their ongoing work. The League’s First Fridays are monthly opportunities for League members to visit the offices of leading design practices to see work on the boards and learn more about the offices’ organization and design processes. These informal social gatherings feature brief office tours and presentations along with happy hour drinks arranged by the host office.

Founded in 1983, Rafael Viñoly Architects is headquartered in New York City with offices in London, Manchester, Shenzhen, and Buenos Aires. The firm is driven by the belief that “the essential responsibility of architecture is to generate the most elegant solution within the economy of each project.” The firm’s portfolio ranges in scale and type with institutional, cultural, educational, commercial, residential, and planning projects worldwide.

Recently completed works include 432 Park Avenue, a residential tower in New York City; the renovation and expansion of the Cleveland Museum of Art; Penn Medicine Complex in Philadelphia; Carrasco International Airport in Montevideo; City Football Academy in Manchester; and New York University’s campus in Abu Dhabi.

Projects currently under construction in the United States include One Grant Park, a pair of residential towers in Chicago; One River Point, a residential development in downtown Miami; and the renovation and expansion of 787 Eleventh Avenue, a commercial development on New York City’s west side. Rafael Viñoly Architects is also working on the Abha Regional Airport in Saudi Arabia and Marble Arch Place, a mixed-use development in London. Two of the firm’s projects have been shortlisted for this year’s World Architecture Festival (WAF) Awards: the New Stanford Hospital in Stanford, CA, and The Hills at Vallco in Cupertino, CA.
