Join Fogarty Finger at their office for drinks, conversation, and a behind the scenes look at their ongoing work. The League’s First Fridays are monthly opportunities for League members to visit the offices of leading design practices to see work on the boards and learn more about the offices’ organization and design processes. These informal social gatherings feature brief office tours and presentations along with happy hour drinks arranged by the host office.
Fogarty Finger is based in New York and specializes in commercial and residential interiors, large-scale renovations, and commercial planning. The firm was founded by Chris Fogarty and Robert Finger in 2003. Fogarty Finger has recently designed mid-rise residential developments in communities including Long Island City and Jersey City to blend with their historic industrial contexts. For these projects, materials are carefully chosen to subtly evoke the site’s past, as in the case of The Jackson, a residential development underway in Long Island City which will include a primary grid of concrete columns enhanced with an infill of metal spandrels and wood panels. Currently, the firm is working on a renovation of a 150,000-square-foot former Schlitz Brewery in Brooklyn which will be transformed into office space. Recent projects include the interior design of Vox Media’s Midtown Manhattan headquarters and Five27, a five-story residential condominium that “playfully reinterprets the traditional row house.”
