The Architectural League’s annual Emerging Voices program spotlights North American architects, landscape architects, and urban designers who have significant bodies of realized work and the potential to influence their field.

Belzberg Architects won a 2008 award.

Santa Monica-based Belzberg Architects was founded by Hagy Belzberg in 1997. Exploring “the suppleness of contemporary forms and the character of both natural and synthetic materials,” Belzberg Architects challenges the “efficacy of digital design within the constraints of physical environments in an effort to understand an interesting and possibly unexplored tectonic reality.”

Recent projects include the Ahmanson Founders Room at the Los Angeles Music Center; the Laboratory of Art + Ideas at Belmar Center in Lakewood, CO; Skyline Residence in Los Angeles; and the Selma Office Tower in Los Angeles.

Belzberg Architects has been awarded numerous AIA awards and the Urban Land Institute Award for Excellence. The firm’s work has been published in Interior Design, Architectural Record, and the New York Times, among others.

Hagy Belzberg received his MArch from Harvard University.
