Thomas Phifer lecture
For his Current Work lecture, Phifer discusses his designs for two houses, museums, and a university student center.
Current Work is a lecture series featuring leading figures in the worlds of architecture, urbanism, design, and art.
Thomas Phifer founded his New York City-based firm Thomas Phifer and Partners in 1997. He describes his approach as “from a humanistic standpoint, connecting the built environment to the natural world with a heightened sense of openness and community spirit that is based on a collaborative, interdisciplinary process.”
In the video above, Phifer discusses some of these influences on several projects, including a residence in Salt Point, NY; the Brochstein Pavilion at Rice University; expansions of the Corning Museum of Glass and Glenstone; and a house in Madison, WI.
