Koning Eizenberg Architecture: Neighborhood
Co-founder Julie Eizenberg speaks about her firm's pragmatic and flexible process for Current Work.
Current Work is a lecture series featuring leading figures in the worlds of architecture, urbanism, design, and art.
The Santa Monica-based firm Koning Eizenberg Architecture was founded in 1982 by Australian architects Hank Koning and Julie Eizenberg. The firm describes an “inherent pragmatism” underlying its design process, “driven by tight budgets and a commitment to environmentally responsive design.”
In this video, Julie Eizenberg discusses projects including:
- MuseumLab, The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh
- Pico Branch Library
- Affordable family housing development The Arroyo
- University of Melbourne Student Pavilion
The lecture was followed by a conversation with Karen Stein. Stein, an architectural consultant and writer, is executive director of the George Nelson Foundation.
*Please note: In this lecture video, you may notice some latency and glitches in the presentation. This is due to technical difficulties affecting the performance of the slide projector. We thank you for your patience.
