FF – Distance Edition: terrain-nyc landscape architecture
The New York City-based landscape architecture firm gives a virtual tour of its studio space and current projects.
The League’s FF – Distance Edition events are informal online studio visits offering a behind-the-scenes look at leading design practices.
In this video, Steven Tupu, director of terrain-nyc, and team members Cody Erhart, Brian Green, Anita Nai-Tzu Cheng, and Eduardo Santamaria, discuss ten of terrain’s completed and ongoing works. Sharing projects that range from waterfront regeneration to affordable housing campuses and park master plans, the team demonstrates how they work to transform spaces through landscape architecture.
The presentation is followed by a conversation with Fernando Villa, principal of Magnusson Architecture and Planning. Participants discuss questions of landscape maintenance, long-term sustainability, and how Covid-19 has reframed the urban population’s relationship to landscape projects.
