The Comptroller plays a critical role in New York’s governance, from overseeing all City contracts and issuing bonds for major projects, to managing a $240 billion pension fund and auditing City agencies.
The Architectural League hosted a series of conversations with candidates for New York City Comptroller, in an effort to provide useful information to our community in this year’s complex and exceedingly important set of municipal races.
We had extremely informative discussions with candidates Senator Brian Benjamin, Councilmember Brad Lander, Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, and Assemblymember David Weprin.
League board members Nat Oppenheimer, senior principal and executive vice president of SILMAN, and Paul Lewis, principal of LTL Architects, posed questions to the candidate with a focus on the many built environment issues the city faces in the coming years.
