The Architectural League’s annual Emerging Voices program spotlights North American architects, landscape architects, and urban designers who have significant bodies of realized work and the potential to influence their field.
Andrew Berman Architect won a 2009 award.
New York-based Andrew Berman Architect was established in 1995 by Andrew Berman. The firm characterizes its work as “about and informed by buildings, the land, people, and the city. Construction is the medium through which we explore the complexities and qualities of space and place. It is a process that starts with the familiar and leads, in an effort to create meaningful and deliberate relationships, toward its edges.”
Recent and current projects include Writing Studio and Library, Long Island; Whitespace Studios, New York City; Rooftop Residence and Gardens, New York City; PS1 Visitor Kiosk, Long Island City; and The Center for Architecture, New York City.
Andrew Berman Architect has received AIA Design Excellence Awards for numerous projects and is currently participating in the NYC Department of Design and Construction Design Excellence Program. His work has been published in New York, Wallpaper, Architectural Record, Metropolis, Quaderns, and The New York Times.
Berman received his BA from Yale College and his MArch from the Yale School of Architecture.
