The League’s First Fridays are monthly opportunities for League members to visit the offices of leading design practices to see work on the boards and learn more about the offices’ organization and design processes. These informal social gatherings feature brief office tours and presentations along with happy hour drinks arranged by the host office.

Pentagram’s work encompasses graphics and identity, products and packaging, exhibitions and installations, websites and digital experiences, advertising and communications. The firm’s 19 partners based in New York, London, Austin, and Berlin are all practicing designers who “whether… working collaboratively or independently… always do so in friendship.”

The firm’s New York office is led by partners Michael Bierut, Michael Gericke, Luke Hayman, Natasha Jen, Emily Oberman, Eddie Opara, Abbott Miller, and Paula Scher. Its new offices were designed by William Russell, partner in the firm’s London office. Recent designs by the New York partners include the WalkNYC pedestrian wayfinding system (designed with the special consortium PentaCityGroup); environmental graphics for Penn Station’s West End Concourse, the first phase of the Moynihan Station redevelopment; a Grammy-nominated album cover design for The National; the installation and graphic design for the “Closed Worlds” exhibition at the Storefront for Art and Architecture; identity and environmental graphics for the renovated Quad Cinema in New York City; and the exhibition design for “Exhibitionism – The Rolling Stones,” a touring exhibition.
