Eric Liftin's New York City firm Mesh Architectures designs both built spaces and web sites with the goal of "integrating the two realms." The firm's work includes a number of lofts in New York City, all of which incorporate building materials in their construction which have often been digitally fabricated. Among these are a loft with a 3-D steel grid that is 'activated' by LED lights programmed to run a number of "shows" and linked to the internet; a duplex with LCD screens embedded in the walls, furniture, and cabinetry; and a number of commissions that incorporate translucent panelite which is utilized in moving screens to create a fluid and luminous space. Liftin received his Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University.
