The election of officers and directors, and remarks by Calvin Tsao, president of the League, will follow a series of tours of the exhibition Frank Lloyd Wright: From Within Outward.

A walking tour led by lifelong Bronx resident Sam Goodman of the Bronx Borough President’s Office and Deborah Marton, Executive Director of the Design Trust for Public Space, followed by a potluck and discussion.

Leslie E. Robertson Associates | A presentation and office visit of Robertson’s structural engineering firm, featuring an overview of work as well as a discussion about the integration of design in his projects.

Rafael Moneo, the project’s design architect, and members of the design and construction teams from Davis Brody Bond, architect of record; Arup, project engineers; Turner Construction Company, construction manager; and Columbia University will lead a tour and discussion of the project.

Richard Garber, Scott Marble, Neil Meredith, Coren Sharples | The new issue of AD brings together academics, architects, engineers, and construction managers each engaged in the use of BIMs, or Building Information Models, which synthesize advances in design computing with better construction management, in the actualization, from design to construction, of complex building projects.

Sunil Bald, Audrey Matlock, Joel Sanders, Calvin Tsao, introduced and moderated by Sarah Goldhagen | The third of three evenings the League will present to consider the intersection of contemporary architectural practice and globalization.

The Architectural League of New York, the India China Institute of The New School, and Parsons The New School for Design present a two-day conference to address the architectural and urban forms that are emerging as a turbulent “second modernity” rearranges a vast part of the landscape of India.

Adriaan Geuze | Geuze, founder of West 8, will present the team’s design ideas for the Governors Island Park and Public Space master plan, discuss the work in progress, and explore various design concepts for the future park.

A guided tour of the Newtown Creek Nature Walk with its designer, environmental sculptor George Trakas. Presented by Urban Omnibus and WNYC.

Sociologist Saskia Sassen will examine the financial crisis and its impact on global cities in order to understand what types of possibilities this crisis might open for cities. This program is the second of three evenings the League will present to consider the intersection of contemporary architectural practice and globalization.

Thom Mayne, founder and design director of Morphosis, and Jean Oei, project designer and job captain in New York, will lead a tour of Morphosis’s new Cooper Union Academic Building.

A Current Work lecture with Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, who has been in practice since 1994, and who also serves as Executive Director of ELEMENTAL S.A., a “Do Tank” for the design and implementation of urban projects of social interest and public impact.

Eric Firley with a response by Alex de Looz | Firley will discuss his recent research for the book The Urban Housing Handbook, co-authored with Caroline Stahl.

Mustafa Abadan and John Winkler, introduced and moderated by Nicholas Adams | This program is the first of three evenings the League will present to consider the intersection of contemporary architectural practice and globalization.

The annual Eleanore Pettersen Lecture, established in honor of Cooper Union alumna Eleanore Pettersen, is dedicated to the voices of women in architecture as a lasting tribute to Ms. Pettersen, her significant impact in the world of architecture, and her love of The Cooper Union.

Henning Kaland | Kaland will present the firm’s work with a particular emphasis on its commissions for Norway’s National Tourist Route project – a network of scenic byways, viewing platforms, and roadside pull-offs.

Andrew Berman; Stella Betts and David Leven | The fourth and final evening of the 26th annual Emerging Voices lecture series.

Julio Amezcua and Francisco Pardo; Robert Hutchison and Tom Maul | The third evening of the 26th annual Emerging Voices lecture series.

Darren Petrucci; Elizabeth Gray and Alan Organschi | The second evening of the 26th annual Emerging Voices lecture series.

Shane Coen and Derek Dellekamp | The first evening of the 26th annual Emerging Voices lecture series.

David W. Orr is the Paul Sears Distinguished Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics in the Environmental Studies Program at Oberlin College. He is best known for his pioneering work on environmental literacy in higher education and his recent work in ecological design.

Group Tour | P.E. Guerin is the oldest decorative hardware firm in the United States, and the only metal foundry in New York City. The company was started in 1857 by French immigrant Pierre Emmanuel Guerin and has been at its current location on Jane Street in Greenwich Village since 1892.

A panel discussion with Mark DuBois, James O’Callaghan, Marc Simmons, Michael Steinhuelb, and Paul Stoller, moderated by Nat Oppenheimer.

Charles Renfro, Mark Holden, Peter Rosenbaum, introduced by Reynold Levy | Renfro, principal of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, will lead a tour of the newly redesigned Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. Holden, principal of JaffeHolden Acoustics, and Rosenbaum, of Fischer Dachs Theater Designers, will provide additional commentary.

Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara | A Current Work lecture with the founders of Grafton Architects, established in 1978 in Dublin. The practice has been engaged in the design and building of university buildings, schools, housing, houses, mixed use buildings, and institutional buildings, together with urban design projects.

Doo Ho Lee | An office visit to this multi-disciplinary design firm that offers architecture, industrial design, and both digital and graphic communications design. The visit will feature an overview of recent work as well as an in depth conversation about the design process of a few key projects. Following the visit to the Union Square office, casual conversation will continue over drinks at a nearby bar.

In recognition of her new collection of criticism, On Architecture: Collected Reflections on a Century of Change, Ms. Huxtable and MAS President Emeritus Kent Barwick will discuss the history and future of architecture and urban planning in New York.

Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects | Tokyo-based architect Toyo Ito explores the dynamic relationships and boundaries between buildings and their environments. Following the lecture, Ito and Lawrence Rinder, Director of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, will discuss the plans and details of the architect’s first American project.

A behind the scenes tour of the recently opened TKTS booth in Times Square with Nicholas Leahy, principal at Perkins Eastman, and Michael Ludvik, structural engineer with Dewhurst Macfarlane.

Representatives from the American Academy in Rome, the American Institute of Architects, the Deborah J. Norden Fund, the Design Trust for Public Space, the MacDowell Colony, the New York Foundation for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the Van Alen Institute will discuss opportunities for individual grants and fellowships for architects and designers.
