The annual Eleanore Pettersen Lecture, established in honor of Cooper Union alumna Eleanore Pettersen, is dedicated to the voices of women in architecture as a lasting tribute to Ms. Pettersen, her significant impact in the world of architecture, and her love of The Cooper Union.

Group Tour | P.E. Guerin is the oldest decorative hardware firm in the United States, and the only metal foundry in New York City. The company was started in 1857 by French immigrant Pierre Emmanuel Guerin and has been at its current location on Jane Street in Greenwich Village since 1892.

Charles Renfro, Mark Holden, Peter Rosenbaum, introduced by Reynold Levy | Renfro, principal of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, will lead a tour of the newly redesigned Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. Holden, principal of JaffeHolden Acoustics, and Rosenbaum, of Fischer Dachs Theater Designers, will provide additional commentary.

Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara | A Current Work lecture with the founders of Grafton Architects, established in 1978 in Dublin. The practice has been engaged in the design and building of university buildings, schools, housing, houses, mixed use buildings, and institutional buildings, together with urban design projects.

Doo Ho Lee | An office visit to this multi-disciplinary design firm that offers architecture, industrial design, and both digital and graphic communications design. The visit will feature an overview of recent work as well as an in depth conversation about the design process of a few key projects. Following the visit to the Union Square office, casual conversation will continue over drinks at a nearby bar.

Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects | Tokyo-based architect Toyo Ito explores the dynamic relationships and boundaries between buildings and their environments. Following the lecture, Ito and Lawrence Rinder, Director of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, will discuss the plans and details of the architect’s first American project.
