The League is pleased to announce this year’s recipient of the Deborah J. Norden Fund travel grant: Kerry O’Connor for the project The Plečnik Projects: Public Experience and the Section of Water.

The Deborah J. Norden Fund, established in 1995 in memory of architect and arts administrator Deborah Norden, awards travel grants of $5,000 annually to students and recent graduates in the fields of architecture, architectural history, and urban studies. More information on the fund, including a complete list of past winning projects, is available on the Norden Fund competition page and in our ongoing series of Travel Reports by past winners.

O’Connor will travel to Ljubljana, Slovenia, to study architect Jože Plečnik’s infrastructural systems along the Ljubljanica and Gradaščica rivers. His project will examine Plečnik’s approaches to the water edge and the relationship between water and the city.
