First Friday
Handel Architects

SOLD OUT — We are hopeful we will be able to increase our capacity for this event, but at the time we are sold out.  To be added to the wait list email rsvp@archleague.org

Join Handel Architects at its office for drinks, informal conversation, and a behind the scenes look at recent and upcoming projects. This program is part of First Friday, a monthly opportunity for League members to visit the offices of leading design practices to see work on the boards and learn more about the offices’ organization and design processes. These informal social gatherings feature happy hour drinks arranged by the host office.

Handel Architects is an architecture, interior design, and planning firm that began in New York City in 1994. Founded by Gary Handel, the firm now is comprised of more than a hundred architects, interior designers, planners, and support staff in New York City, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi. Some of the firm’s notable projects include the Dream Downtown Hotel in Chelsea; the Flushing Meadows/Corona Park Pool and Ice Rink in Flushing, Queens; and the National September 11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan. Recent awards include a 2012 American Architecture Award, as well as 2012 awards from both AIA New York State and AIA New York City. Partner Michael Arad was also honored with the 2012 AIA Presidential Citation Award.
