First Friday
Weiss / Manfredi

SOLD OUT — We are at capacity for this event and cannot accept any additional reservations.

Join Weiss / Manfredi at its office for drinks, informal conversation, and a behind the scenes look at recent and upcoming projects. This program is part of First Friday, a monthly opportunity for League members to visit the offices of leading design practices to see work on the boards and learn more about the offices’ organization and design processes. These informal social gatherings feature happy hour drinks arranged by the host office.

Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi initiated their collaboration based on the desire to question the disciplinary distinctions between architecture, art, landscape architecture, engineering, and urban planning. They felt that these distinctions “marginalized the status of the architectural project and precluded new paradigms for contemporary settings.”

Major projects include: the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, WA and the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, NY. More recently, the firm has completed the Barnard College Diana Center, which won an AIA Institute Honor Award, and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Visitor Center. In 2012, Weiss / Manfredi (with OLIN) won the competition to design the Washington Monument Grounds at the Sylvan Theater.
