Join Richard Meier & Partners Architects at their office for drinks, informal conversation, and a behind the scenes look at their ongoing work. This program is part of First Friday, a monthly opportunity for League members to visit the offices of leading design practices to see work on the boards and learn more about the offices’ organization and design processes. These informal social gatherings feature happy hour drinks arranged by the host office.

The work of Richard Meier & Partners has received 30 National Honor Awards from the American Institute of Architects and over 50 from the New York AIA and other regional chapters. The firm maintains offices in New York and Los Angeles.

The firm is well known for the The Getty Center in Los Angeles, Federal Courthouses on Long Island and in Phoenix, the Jubilee Church in Rome, and the Charles and Perry Street Towers in New York City. Projects include office buildings and headquarters in the United States and across Europe in Germany, France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands for companies like Canal+, Siemens, KNP, Daimler Benz, Olivetti, Renault, and SwissAir. The firm has built almost twenty museums, including the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art and more recent Burda and Arp Museums in Germany.
Recent work includes a newly complete headquarters in Hamburg for Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG), the world’s leading green coffee service group; a 350,000sf office building in Paris occupied by Orange (France Telecom); and Weill Hall at Cornell University, a LEED Gold laboratory building. Groundbreaking is expected this spring for Phase 1 of a Master Plan for downtown Newark, NJ; and construction has begun on City Green Court in Prague following the recent completion of the City Tower part of the Master Plan for a super block in Prague 4 designed by the office. Current projects are underway in Central America, Europe, and Asia, as well as a large residential tower in the heart of Tel Aviv, Israel. Most recently the firm has been awarded the Edie & Lew Wasserman Eye Research Center at UCLA and the Master Plan Capitol Project in Singapore.

This program is free and open to League members. Members may bring one guest whom they would like to introduce to League programs. RSVP required to rsvp@archleague.org.
