“Architects, like so many, are loath to admit that size matters. But they can’t help fantasizing about scoring a date with a tall building or a voluptuous museum. Meanwhile, they downplay their smaller, less glamorous projects as time-filling flings, excluding them from conversation (or lectures, portfolios), quick to dump the steady engagement when a flashier project comes along. But often, it’s the everyday encounters that end up being the most meaningful. The architects featured in ‘New New York 3′ wold likely agree.
