Russell Sage Home Development Company land in Forest Hills.

“The Architectural League of New York notified the Mayor’s Food Gardens Committee yesterday of the formation of an agricultural corps made up of members of the office forces of architects…Grosvenor Atterbury, president of the league, sent an appeal…in which he recommended: ‘That the offices permit their members to take one week of their vacations for the public benefit…[and] that the heads of firms…who for any reason could not give their own time might contribute financially.’ There will be a meeting of architects at the Fine Arts Building…Tuesday night to make further plans. It is expected that other professional organizations will follow the action of the Architectural League and the Lawyers’ Club, which has undertaken to have each lawyer farm one acre or have it farmed.’ The New York Times, April 29, 1917
