Austrian Culture Minister Claudia Schmied appointed SCI-Arc Director and architect Eric Owen Moss as Commissioner for the Austrian Pavilion at the Architecture Exhibition at the 2010 Venice Biennale—the first foreign architect to be asked to commission a national pavilion. Join Moss, Schmied, architect Wolf Prix of Coop Himmelb(l)au, and critic, theorist, curator, and educator Jeffrey Kipnis for “Trajan over Nero—Vienna, Venice, Los Angeles,” a preview of the pavilion and a discussion of Austrian architecture around the world as well as international architecture in Austria. There will also be a moment of appreciation for our friend and colleague Raimund Abraham, who taught for many years at The Cooper Union and who most recently taught at SCI-Arc.

Free and open to all. RSVP to

This program is organized by the Southern California Institute of Architecture and is co-sponsored by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture; the Austrian Cultural Forum; The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union; and the Architectural League of New York.
