The Architectural League invites principals and partners of supporting, sustaining, and League Circle firms to attend a special tour of Palladio and His Legacy: A Transatlantic Journey. Led by the show’s curators, Charles Hind and Irena Murray, the tour will allow a rare chance to see thirty-one Palladio drawings from the Royal Institute of British Architects. These drawings will be on view to the public for the first time in over thirty years. They are being presented with rare architectural texts to illustrate the journey from Italy to North America of Palladio’s design principles of proportion, harmony, and beauty.
Charles Hind is the H.J. Heinz Curator of Drawings at the RIBA and Irena Murray is the Director of the RIBA British Architectural Library and the Sir Banister Fletcher Librarian.
The exhibition is organized by the Royal Institute of British Architects Trust, London, in association with the Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio, Vicenza, and The Morgan Library & Museum, New York. Plaster models are by Timothy Richards.
Reservations are required. Reservations are limited to two per supporting, sustaining, or League Circle membership. Please email anderson@archleague.org. Further program information will be given upon confirmation.
